Dr Antoinette Chateau is Head of Dermatology of the Pietermaritzburg Complex and a consultant and lecturer in the Department of Dermatology, Nelson R Mandela school of Medicine.
She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in 1995 majoring in psychology and physiology. She completed her MBCHB from Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine in 2001. She has completed a Diploma in Child Health in 2003 and obtained the Fellowship of the College of Dermatologists of South Africa in 2009.
She has a special interest in paediatric dermatology. She completed a fellowship in paediatric dermatology at Children’s Memorial Hospital Chicago, affiliated to Northwestern University in 2012 under the mentorship of Profs Mancini and Amy Paller. She was attached to the Department of Paediatric Dermatology, Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital London in 2013 under the mentorship of Prof Harper and Dr Glover.
She runs specialist paediatric dermatology clinics at Greys hospital, Pietermaritzburg and King Edward Hospital, Durban.
